The pace is walking and trotting with arranged canters for the more experienced.

Your Pony Trekking Day out in Gower
The day begins at 10 a.m. when when one of our well mannered ponies is matched to your ability. There follows a period of hands-on bonding as everyone helps to groom and tack up their horses. After a thorough but informal instruction the ride moves off at around 11:30 stopping for lunch at beaches, picturesque Gower villages or country pubs where you can enjoy good food and be sure that your four-legged friend is munching contentedly nearby. (pub lunches ar not included in the price, if you prefer you are welcome to bring a packed lunch)

Book a half or full day ride, weekend riding break or week long riding holiday; you can organise your own groups, whether with like minded friends or a social outing from work. Don’t be deterred if you are an individual rider, many people have enjoyed our horse riding experience and met new friends along the way – don’t be shy. Everyone is welcome from age 10 years upwards (We recommend the parents of 10 to 14 year olds to come out and meet them at them at lunch time) and for the younger children there are always paddock rides for them to look forward to.

Your Horse or Pony
Our horses and ponies range from 12hh to 15.2hh. They all live out as an established herd and this is what makes them happy, relaxed and a pleasure to handle and ride. They will all take care of the most nervous of riders whilst always being ready for a canter on the beach when asked.

Essential Riding Equipment
Comfort and safety are paramount. Riding hats are essential and are loaned free of charge. Unless you have your own riding equipment the following guide will be of some help. We recommend boots or shoes with a small heel and non-ribbed sole, sports style trousers (not jeans). Be prepared for sunshine, rain, wind, fog, snow, hail. We ride whatever the weather, as long as it is safe to do so.

Horseback riding lessons & Qualifications
Why not get qualified while you stay - We offer a range of short horsemanship courses that can be completed over a stay of one week or more.

We are also a British Equine Tourism (BET) examination centre please see the British Horse Society (BHS) website for exam dates. We also offer NVQ's level one and two in Stable management and Horse Care.
