Horse riding in Wales – Pony trekking in Gower

Regrettably we are not offering horse riding from Parc Le Breos this spring and are likely to reopen during the summer season.

We happily recommend our nearest two centres who are Clyne farm in Mayals tel: 01792 403333 and Pembrey parc riding centre tel: 01554 835191

If you are looking for horse riding in Wales why not try Pony trekking in the Gower peninsular, we offer half and full day pony rides through to week long horse riding holidays. The riding is perfect for beginners in search of a fun and memorable introduction to horse riding and a great day’s scenery, just have a look at our Galleries for what you can expect! Many experienced riders also enjoy pony trekking with us as a fantastic means of exploring this beautiful part of the south wales coast.

The pace is leisurely (mainly walking and trotting) with the emphasis on experiencing this beautiful landscape,  the sweeping sandy beaches, magnificent limestone cliffs, salt and freshwater marshes and open moorland that Gower is famous for. Experienced horse riders will have an opportunity to canter at some point but we must highlight that this is not a hack (fast horseback riding) and we always ride in a mixed ability group of between 4 and 15 riders.

Parc-Le-Breos is a family run guest house and pony trekking center in Gower, Established by John and Olive Edwards in 1963. Our horse rides explore some of the best scenery wales has to offer and are loved by couples, families and groups of friends alike. The lunch time stop is usually at a good local food pub and are a great opportunity to socialize with the guides and other riders.  We have horses and ponies to suit all ages and abilities; if you’ve never ridden before you really couldn’t choose a better place to have a go. All of the rides are run by our award winning friendly guides who have an unrivaled knowledge of the area,  the best trails, the local conditions and of course the temperaments of their horses.

Everyone is welcome from age 10 years upwards (We recommend the parents of 10 to 14 year olds to come out and meet children at lunch time) and for the younger children there are always paddock rides for them to look forward to.

Please note that some of our rides do go down on to the beaches but unfortunately we never guarantee a beach ride on a given day. The days route is chosen on the morning of the ride based on factors such as the weather, the abilities of the riders in the group, which routes have already been ridden on previous days, the state of the tide and how busy the beaches are likely to be.
